Leibniz University Hannover is one of the top Technical Universities in Germany, belonging to the leading TU-9 group. The Institute of Technical Combustion belongs to the Mechanical Engineering Faculty. The main task is research and teaching. The Institute is specialised with research in the fields: Combustion process analysis, Turbulent combustion, Internal combustion engines, Diesel engines, Gas engines, Spray diagnostics, Laser diagnostics in combustion, Combustion simulation and modelling. The Institute has several test rigs, e.g. four single-cylinder engines, a high pressure exhaust gas investigation channel, spray injection test rigs, turbulent combustion test rigs, as well as highly sophisticated measurement and laser diagnostic techniques. The research profile fits very well to the tasks of the proposal.
