Techische Universität München

The Technische Universität München (TU München) is a public non-profit organization of education and research. The Lehrstuhl für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen provides education and research in internal combustion engines and their design and usage. The research of the Lehrstuhl für Verbennungskraftmaschinen is focused on combustion, injection and tribology of internal combustion engines. Since one of the main research topics of the Lehrstuhl für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen is investigation of the high efficient, low emission combustion in depth. This know-how on analyzing and modeling the combustion and emission formation using optical measurement techniques and reaction kinetic has been accumulated, which will be exploited and further extended in the framework of the project.

The Lehrstuhl für Thermodynamik provides education and research in mechanical engineering thermodynamics, heat transfer and a wide range of energy related courses. The research of the Lehrstuhl für Thermodynamik is focused on combustion (gas turbines, reciprocating engines, boilers, heating appliances, rocket motors and safety), on two phase flows and on energy system studies. Since one of the main research topics of the Lehrstuhl für Thermodynamik is low emission combustion in depth know-how on the modeling of pollutant formation using CFD and reaction kinetic has been accumulated, which will be exploited and further extended in the framework of the project.
