Within these missions, KIT is operating along the three strategic fields of action of research, teaching, and innovation.

The database systems group of KIT has data analytics as one main area of research. In particular, its recent work on subspace search and outlier detection is an excellent fit with the tasks listed in the proposal. The group is part of the computer science department and has directed projects funded by a broad range of organizations, namely Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg, Federal Ministry of Education and Research, German Research Foundation (DFG), EU and several industrial collaborations. The group combines in excellent manner scientific excellence, interdisciplinary research, international collaborations and industry-oriented research.
